I'd like to thank all the parents who volunteered as timers, those who worked at the concessions table & awards table, those who donated items to our concession stand, and those of you who made sure that the coaches and officials were well fed & fueled in the hospitality room. I also appreciate all the hard work and long hours the coaching staff and officials put into this meet.

Again, several coaches and parents from other teams complimented us on how well the meet was run this weekend, and we couldn't have done it without our parent volunteers.

Meet: January Open (Coach Mike's Senior Prep & Junior II groups Only)

You may review this link to see the meet announcement. Coach Mike recommends this meet for those Sr Prep and Junior II swimmers who are within 4 seconds of a Junior Olympic qualifying time. Swimmers should not enter an event that they already have a JO cut in.  All other swimmers should compete in the 14&Under qualifier meet.

Coach Courtney Cook's college course schedule has changed for next semester, and therefore, she will be unable to continue coaching our AG I on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  You will continue seeing her on the pool deck coaching for other MAKO coaches through the season. We'll miss seeing her every week!
 
I am happy to announce that Chris Schwindt will be taking over our Age Group I group on Tuesday and Thursday for the remainder of the season.
 
Chris is no stranger to the Mako family. Chris was a coach for our Mini Mako Developmental and Mini Mako Competitive groups from 2002-2005. He also swam in our Senior/National group from 1998-2005. He was a captain and four year letterman for Centreville High School Swim Team.  He served as an assistant coach for The Little Rocky Run Stingrays in 2004 and 2005 where he also swam. Chris is also the Head Coach for The Brookfield Breakers Swim Team in Chantilly during the summer seasons from 2006 to present. Chris is a graduate of East Carolina University where he received his degree in Architectural Design with a minor in business in 2009. He swam club at East Carolina University and is excited to be back working with our team again.
